Our Commitment to Your Privacy

At Qu-Chat, privacy isn't just a feature—it's our foundation. We've built our entire architecture to ensure that we cannot access your messages, even if we wanted to. This Privacy Policy explains what minimal data we collect and how we protect your privacy.

1. What We Collect

1.1 Message Content

We do NOT collect, store, or have access to your message content. All messages are:

  • Encrypted on your device using quantum-resistant cryptography
  • Stored on a decentralized peer-to-peer network
  • Only decryptable by the intended recipient(s)
  • Never transmitted through or stored on our servers

1.2 Wallet Address

When you connect your Web3 wallet, we use your wallet address as your identity. This is a public blockchain address and does not reveal your real-world identity unless you choose to link it to personal information elsewhere.

1.3 Website Analytics

We may collect basic, anonymized website usage data to improve our service:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Browser type and device information
  • Approximate geographic location (country/region level only)

This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

2. What We Don't Collect

Unlike most messaging apps, we do NOT collect:

  • Phone numbers or email addresses
  • Real names or personal information
  • Contact lists or social graphs
  • Message content or metadata (who you talk to, when, how often)
  • IP addresses or precise location data
  • Biometric data
  • Payment information (Qu-Chat is free)

3. How We Use Information

The minimal data we collect is used solely to:

  • Enable you to use Qu-Chat's messaging features
  • Improve our website and user experience
  • Detect and prevent technical issues
  • Comply with legal obligations (if required by law)

We do NOT use your data for advertising, marketing, or selling to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Decentralized Storage

Your encrypted messages are stored on, a decentralized peer-to-peer database. This means:

  • No central server stores your messages
  • Data is distributed across multiple network nodes
  • We cannot access, modify, or delete your messages

4.2 Encryption

All message content is encrypted using:

  • ML-KEM-768 (Kyber) for quantum-resistant key exchange
  • AES-256-GCM for message content encryption
  • End-to-end encryption—only you and your recipients can decrypt messages

4.3 Key Management

Your encryption keys are generated and stored locally on your device. Private keys never leave your device and are not transmitted to us or any third party.

5. Third-Party Services

Qu-Chat integrates with the following third-party services:

  • Web3 Wallet Providers (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.) - for authentication
  • P2P Network - for decentralized message storage
  • IPFS Network - for decentralized media storage

These services have their own privacy policies. We recommend reviewing them.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights:

  • Access - Your data is stored on your device and the decentralized network
  • Control - You control your encryption keys and identity
  • Deletion - You can delete your local data at any time
  • Portability - You can export your data from your device

Note: Due to the decentralized nature, encrypted messages may persist on the peer-to-peer network even after you delete local copies. However, these messages remain encrypted and inaccessible without your private keys.

7. Children's Privacy

Qu-Chat is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@qu-chat.com.

8. International Users

Qu-Chat is a decentralized application. Your data is not stored on servers in any particular jurisdiction but rather distributed across the global P2P network.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

The Bottom Line

We built Qu-Chat so that we can't read your messages—not because we promise not to, but because it's technically impossible. Your privacy is protected by mathematics and decentralization, not by trust.
